EMT-P / ED Admissions
Performs admissions/quick registration of patients on their arrival to the Emergency Department. Must be able to quickly recognize patient condition changes using across the room observation. Professionally communicates in all aspects of role, including phone etiquette. Assists ED staff with obtaining EKG's, specimen collection, re-assessment and IV placement. Maintains current knowledge and standards of paramedic and registration practice. All other duties required by Management. Performs EKG's and other diagnostics when assigned. Places patients in triage or exam room when needed with notification of Charge RN. Facilitates the EKG being done timely and providing it to the MD for review and signature. Participates in Quality Process Improvements in department. Participates in patient/family/staff education. Maintains current knowledge of the ED protocols. Reports changes in patient condition to the Charge RN. Provides safe practices in all aspects of patient care and registration activities.
- Graduate of an accredited EMT-P Program
- Current National and Texas State EMT-P Licensure
- One year experience preferred
- Current BLS required.
