Essential Functions:
1Utilizes knowledge, skill and judgment in providing direct and indirect patient care.
2Participates in patient/family/staff education.
3Provides safe practices in all aspects of patient care activities.
4Maintains current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.
Secondary Functions: Upon completion of education requirements
1All other duties required by Management.
2Shift Charge Nurse when assigned.
3Makes patient care assignments based on skill, experience and acuity of patient.
4Directs and precepts staff as needed / assigned.
5Participates in Quality Process Improvements in department.
Education/Skills:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current BLS required
oNIHSS within 3 months - ICU, SDU Med Surg, Flex
oACLS within 3 months- FLEX, ICU, SDU
oACLS or Rhythm Recognition within 3 months - Med Surg
oCPI or COAP within 3 months- ICU, BHU, Med/Surg, Flex
oENPC or PALS within 3 months - ICU
oABG Training within 3 months - ICU, SDU
oBalloon Pump Class within 1 year - ICU
oOther experience/technical skills as assigned:_________________________________________
Licensure: Current Texas or Compact State RN licensure
Experience: One year experience preferred
