Performs admissions/quick registration of patients on their arrival to the Emergency Dept.

Must be able to quickly recognize patient condition changes using across the room observation.

Professionally communicates in all aspects of role, including phone etiquette.

Assists ED staff obtaining EKGs, specimen collection, re-assessment and IV placement.

Maintains current knowledge and standards of paramedic and registration practice.

Secondary duties (Upon completion of education requirements)

Performs EKGs and other diagnostics when assigned.

Places patients in triage or exam room when needed and notifies charge RN.

Facilitates the EKG being done timely and providing it to the MD for review and signature.

Participates in Quality Process Improvements in department.

Maintains current knowledge of ED protocols.

Reports changes in patient condition to charge RN.

Provides safe practices in all aspects of patient care and registration activities.

All other duties as assigned by manager.

Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited EMT-P Program and current BLS required.

Licensure: Current National and Texas State EMT-P Licensure.

One Year Experience Preferred.

Salary: $19.17-$28.42/hour
